NSR - Öppet brev från Salvatore Noviello om plast vs. metalldrev

NSR's ägare som ÄR en dedikerad och hängiven tävlingsåkare har i år jobbat med att ytterligare förbättra och öka prestanda och körupplevelse med NSR-bilarna. Utvecklingsprojektet har gått mot plastdrev istället för metalldrev, allt har sett bra ut men nu har han dessvärre upptäckt en del kvalitetsproblem med både pinion och krondrev.

Här är ett bra exempel på hur NSR fungerar. Rak, transparent och snabb kommunikation när problem uppstår. Och en direkt åtgärd. NSR återgår till metalldrev för både krondrev och piniondrev tillsvidare.

"Dear Clients

First of all, please accept my excuse for delay in reply, but it is not so simply.
German language is impossible for me… English is a little bit better… Only Italian is OK J

Believe me, I had 3 nights without sleep, only having in my mind “gear/pinion” problem.
Big problem for my clients, so big problem for me.
Please give me possibility to explain that it is only MY fault! 100% my fault!

My first and top important decision was to stop immediately assembly line and come back to metal gear and pinion.
We started 6 dec to disassemble ALL Anglewinder cars into factory and we are installing metal pinion and gear to eliminate ALL problems.

Second important decision is to ship (for free of course) metal gear + pinion + motor screw to ALL distributors, to give to their shop/clients, to give to end users.

Please give only right time, just few days, and all clients will receive new metal set gear + pinion.
Of course our distributors and shops will include into showcase a set of metal gear + pinion, so when you will buy for example a corvette with plastic set, you will find also into vetrine a new set of metal gear and pinion.
I never want that my client have to spend money to replace something!!! Never!!

But now PLEASE, give me small possibility to explain again and better WHO is NSR

I LOVE slot cars, I try every day to make my best; here we aren’t big industry, we are only 14 guys.
NSR philosophy is simple: NSR produces competition slot cars, they race on tracks, they win around the World, and they are not to be put on display! 
NSR makes slot cars only to WIN competition! Not to play!
NSR cars are the fastest slot cars in the World “straight out of  the box”, with and without magnet.
THIS is MY mission, MY philosophy, and we all together here try everyday to improve performances of our cars.
Our competitors are not Racer, Fly, Slot.it or other Brands…
Our competitor are Tracks, Lap Timer, Race result!
NSR think only about performances!

Our costs are very high and there is an explanation for that: we produce ourself here in Italy, here in our factory; all NSR employers have regular working-contract, insurance, and we pay tax and royalty to all Companies and Sponsors that give us licence since we fully respect the law.
To assure you I like to remark that I WANT to continue my dream making slotcars for all the rest of my life J


OK, I thank you, now I have to explain to all clients other things:

Plastic gear/pinion is better than metal, this is not crazy, this is real; this is not new information, this is old, very old; people racing eurosport or fastest slotracing cars on wooden tracks use since 20years only plastic gears and their car run over 100kmh!! This is real, this is not fantasy!
For this reason, as I think only about TOP performance of NSR cars, I made big money investment in new molds to produce plastic gears and pinion.
NOT TO SAVE MONEY COSTS, BUT TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE ONLY!!!!
This must be clear in your mind!
I’m not a bandit, I want only BEST PERFORMANCE of NSR cars!

Unfortunally, my fault is to start too much fast into this operation, I “runned” too much, I changed from metal to plastic too fast, in shortest time, without be sure 100%.
So, we started to sell some cars with plastic gears and pinions, and I discovered after 2 months that more gears were defective, due to temperature problem during injection L
I immediately replaced gears, sent new gears… but the problem was the same…
We made modifications on gear molds, now we have 6 spokes instead of previous 3: this because previous gears were not perfect round… now plastic gears are perfect….
But later I discovered that also we had a problem on red aw pinions, as it is not always perfect; there are some defective pinions, still some defective gears, so there are some defective cars….
SORRY!!

This is only MY fault!! 100% my personal responsibility!

We raced in Belgium with plastic gear 24hours without problem!
But I have to be honest, I have to think that not all people are able to work on the car to have best setup.
My mission is always and it will be always to make best cars, easy to drive and easy to use, without change parts, without work to have best performance.

My fault was to be “too much fast” in replace metal with plastic gears.

For this reason now :
1. we come back immediately to metal gear and pinion
2. I develop plastic gear and pinion for best result (new gears 6 spokes are perfect now, but I have to concentrate work on pinion first)
3. I will test everything on our track for long time, very long time J
4. when I will be sure 100% of quality, I will send for free 1 complete car equipped by plastic gear/pinion + spare plastic gears/pinions to “Slot Clubs” interested in test test test and send me detailed report.
YOU will be my personal tester!

This only because I’m sure 100% that plastic is better J
Of course we will continue to install metal gears and pinions on NSR cars from Factory.
